December 2024

The holidays have always been my favorite time of the year. There’s something magical about the first snowfall, the warm glow of twinkling lights, and the joy of gathering with loved ones. For me, it’s also the perfect excuse to dive into cozy, creative sewing projects that bring a little extra cheer to the season. This December, we’re embracing all the festive moments that make winter wonderful. In our latest issue of We Like Sewing, we’re serving up a mix of trendy and timeless projects that will carry you through Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and beyond. Kick off your sewing spree with Winter 2024’s hottest trend: leopard print. Debbie von Grabler-Crozier’s chic leopard clutch is a must-make accessory and Christy Jones’ leopard heating pad is perfect for winding down after a long day. For outerwear that turns heads, Lauren Merciris’ stylish winter wrap coat is a wardrobe essential — and my personal favorite from this issue! And if you’re stepping out for New Year's Eve celebrations, pair your favorite party dress with a luxurious burgundy shawl for a touch of elegance. We’re also bringing you practical projects like Stephanie Woodson’s DIY pattern weights and a special Christmas pattern from our friends at We Like Quilting. So grab your favorite fabrics, a hot cup of cocoa, and let’s sew something magical this holiday season!   READ MORE

A minimalist approach is using a stack of heavy washers or cans of food but there are much more attractive options!  READ MORE
As more companies and makers begin incorporating AI (artificial intelligence) elements into their selling experience, it can be difficult to sort out a genuine product or pattern from an “AI-enhanced” image. How can you tell what a real product being sold is versus an image that’s been created using AI? With the holiday season underway and more people than ever shopping online, it’s important to do your research so that you can avoid being scammed on sites like Etsy. That’s why we’re sharing some quick tips to follow so that you can more easily spot whether a pattern is real or if a product image is just a little too good to be true.  READ MORE
