  • White 20-gauge threaded wire if the beads are loose- 36” long
  • White thread
  • Scissors
  • Cutting mat
  • Acrylic ruler
  • Rotary cutter
  • Hand sewing needles
  • Iron

Cutting Instructions:

Green gingham fabric:

  • (4) 4 inches x 44 inches strips

Pink daisy fabric:

  • (4) 4 inches x 44 inches strips

Sewing Instructions:

  1. Fold one strip of fabric, 4 inches x 44 inches in half lengthwise for a 2 inch x 44 inches. Press the fold. From the cut edges, cut the fringe 1/4 inch apart. This can be done with fabric scissors or a rotary cutter.  Cut only to 1/4 inch from the fold.

  2. With 36 inches of doubled white thread on a hand sewing needle, gather the strip of folded gingham fabric from Step #1, along the fold line with 1/4 inches stitches. (Or machine stitch the gathers.) Pull up gathers into a 20 inch strip and knot the thread. Move gathers to be even across the 20 inches. Repeat for another gingham fabric strip. Stitch the folded edge of one gathered strip to the outside wire circle of the wreath form by hand. This should be half the wreath form. Repeat with the other 20 inch gingham gathered strip. Overlap and stitch the ends as needed.

  3. Repeat Steps #1-2 with two strips of pink daisy fabric strips. Gather the strips to 18 inches each. Attach the fabric fold edge to the 3rd rung (ring) from the center of the wire wreath form.
  4. Repeat Step #2 with two strips of green gingham fabric. Gather the strips to 15 inches each. Attach to the 2nd rung (ring) of the wire wreath form, slightly overlapping the ends.
  5. Repeat Step #2 with two final strips of pink daisy fabric. Gather the strips to 14 inches each. Attach to the rung (ring) in the center of the wreath form. Overlap and stitch the ends as needed. This stitched pink daisy fabric will fold into the center of the wreath. The other three rings of fabric will be folded to the outside edge of the wire wreath.

  6. If the wood beads are loose beads, string them onto a 36 inch length of 20-gauge white thread covered wire. Pull the beads into a 10 inch circle and secure the ends tightly. Lay the 10 inch wood bead ring on top of the wreath to be sure of its placement.

  7. Stitch the bead circle securely to the wreath form with double thread. Be sure to attach around the wire of the bead circle and the wire of the wreath form above the second rung (ring) from the center.

  8. With a remaining 2 inch x 44 inch green gingham fabric, hand tie a 5 inch simple bow and stitch it into the upper left “corner” of the wreath. Trim the tails as desired. Fluff up the fringe of the wreath.

  9. The wreath can be hung on the wire form.
