Materials:
All calculations are on a single layer. If you want to cut your fabric on the fold, increase consumption by a 1/2 yard. When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more yardage than required.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS – YARDAGE:

- Recommended fabrics: Light to medium weight fabric (Sample was made with satin).
- All-purpose polyester thread

- Needle
- 1/4 yard elastic, 1 inch width
- Loop turner
- PDF Pattern – This is located at the bottom of this page. See printing instructions below.
Tips: All-natural fibers and some synthetic materials undergo shrinkage during their first wash and can change the texture and hand feel. (The designer prefers the look and feel of washed fabrics.) Pre-washing is necessary if you want your garment to be washable after sewing (without shrinking). Giving the washed material a light press before cutting will ensure your paper pattern pieces can lay smoothly on top.

PATTERN INVENTORY:

PATTERN LAYOUT:
Play around with the pattern placement to minimize fabric wastage but ensure the grainlines remain parallel to the selvedge or your preferred cutting direction. Transfer all markings to main fabric and lining fabric, and cut out patterns.
Sewing Instructions:
The image below shows how all patterns should look after cutting in the main fabric.

- Fold all pattern pieces in half with the wrong side outside and sew lengthwise using 1/2 inch seam allowance.

- Now press the seam open, turning the pattern pieces. Ensure the seam on each pattern piece is centralized and not by the side.

- Insert a 7 1/2 inch elastic into the elastic casing and secure at both ends. Also insert the inner band into the front ruch, centralize it, and secure it at both ends.

- Now place the end cased elastic in between the front ruch end and wrap the excess of the ruch around the cased elastic on both sides.

- Now sew the wrap ends in place using 1/2 inch seam allowance.

- After sewing, pull the cased elastic outwards so that the seam becomes enclosed inwards.

You’ve done it! I hope you’re so proud.
