Editor’s Note December 2022

Caitlin Eaton

As temperatures drop below freezing, I’m all about staying comfortable and cozy inside as I wait for the arrival of Christmas. This month, our editors and designers wanted to focus on creating the embodiment of the perfect Christmas Eve, from adorable holiday décor to comfy loungewear to a simple quilt to snuggle under while you wait for Santa’s arrival.

Sophie Tarrant has your winter lounging covered with a brilliant pajama refashion, as well as a fun, embroidered eye mask. If you love spending cold winter nights binging your favorite shows, cuddle up in front of the TV with Zoe Ballard’s layer cake quilt pattern that finishes at a 50” x 50” throw quilt.

If you love going all out on your Christmas decorations, then you’ll love the three holiday projects in this issue. First up, Debbie von Grabler-Crozier shows you how to make a trendy and scrap-friendly gnome mug rug. Then, get ready to decorate your mantel with an adorable Santa wall hanging from Mallory Theiss. Finally, Sophie Tarrant is back with a whimsical woodland ornament to add to your Christmas tree.

Spend your time indoors sewing, learn how to English paper piece a cute candle mat with Debbie von Grabler-Crozier, and find some great gift ideas for your sewing and quilting pals in our brand new December issue.

Happy Sewing,
