Editor’s Note November 2022

Caitlin Eaton

It’s still autumn, but here at the We Like Sewing headquarters, we can’t help but look ahead at what’s to come: the holiday season. After all, it’s never too early to start sewing and quilting for Christmas! And right on time, this brand new issue has ideas to inspire and delight featuring four fun Christmas patterns that you can start right now!

Begin by crafting your own holiday wreath, made with classic green, white and red. Featuring a rod pocket cleverly used to hide your polystyrene wreath form, you’ll love how easy this quaint wreath comes together. Next, get the table ready for all your holiday meals by quilting a gorgeous quilted table topper featuring a classic friendship star in the center. This project is a great way to showcase some of your favorite holiday prints (or leftovers from last year’s holiday fabric stash). Pair it with the beautiful Merry and Bright Machine Embroidered Placemats, and you’ll have a festive spread that’s ready for the whole family to admire.

But don’t worry — we haven’t forgotten our commitment to fall fashion, either. The Highland Cozy Sewn Winter Wrap is a must-make project for that chilly fall-to-winter transition. It’s a fashionable and functional project that features double-faced fabric complete with a cozy interior and gorgeous shaping that pairs perfectly with a belt, body suit and your favorite jeans.

Plus, give your denim skirt an upgrade with this month’s denim refashion project that transforms thrift store jeans into the cutest fall skirt.

Happy Sewing,
